Our latest 60 foot, 2+2 berth narrow boat aims to provide the pinnacle in comfort and quality utilising solid English Oak and American White Oak panelling throughout to produce a light and airy design. We have incorporated a semi-traditional stern of over generous proportions as experience shows this provides the best solution for all season cruising.

The foredeck provides spacious seating for 4 people, 120 water tank below.

hanging wardrobes The master bedroom incorporates a split 4ft 6ins sprung bed mattress to ensure you are fully relaxed for tomorrow's locks. The pair of generous hanging wardrobes and additional storage is provided by under-bed drawers and very cleverly designed over-bed unit that incorporates individual reading lights set above the leather headboard.

luxury showerWe recognise that the bathroom is where people want luxury so we have made it more spacious by designing the doors to close into the corridor using the full width of the boat. It has a fitted with modern style slim shower head with thermo mixing unit, in the luxury tiled shower cubicle with its roomy 1000 by 800mm shower tray and a stylish basin with free standing pedestal mixer tap.

the granite worktops and porcelain butler style sinkThe Galley comes fully equipped with a full size washer/dryer, microwave, 12 volt fridge, gas hob and separate oven with grill. It is however the little details that make the difference; the granite worktops, the porcelain butler style sink, the wooden plate rack and certainly more usable cupboard space than most 60 foot boats. Two of the cupboard units slide out to utilise deep corner space making easy access and also additional worktop space.

lighting The spacious area in the main cabin provides the ideal flexibility for evening conversation or watching television utilising the pre wired Flat Panel television console. (Note TV not included but we have included an entertainment unit with both radio and CD player that can be set to provide music throughout the boat). The main cabin achieves a light airy feel due to the white ceiling with solid Oak beams, 2 roof windows and stylish lighting. The cushion seating provides not only comfortable dining for 6 but with the table removed, a sofa for lounging and still further an additional double berth.

traditional stove As you can never have too much storage on a boat we have also added a series of drawers utilising the space normally wasted behind the steps to the aft deck. As a cosier alternative to the full diesel central heating system (radiators discreetly hidden behind Oak and stainless steel radiator covers) we have provided a Morso multifuel stove burning wood or coal.

The Stern with its semi traditional style has Iroko plank seating for 4 plus helmsman, external steel doors and further stowage either side of the gangway.

Outside the boat has a deliberately understated feel with quality paint finish, semi-traditional stern and carefully detailed window apertures. The details to the rear window portals and the tiller bar with its stainless retention pin and solid wooded ferrule and chrome ventilation domes serve to encapsulate the quality without being overstated.

Designing and building boats for any craftsman is one of life's major pleasures as it provides the chance to create an exciting, practical solution at the cutting edge of design. During the many years as a craftsman in wood I have created a multitude of bespoke pieces of furniture from very modern pieces to more traditional items. Indeed I still make individual pieces as commissions for many loyal customers. Narrow boats are however my love and therefore it was inevitable that the future should find me drawn to producing my own boats incorporating the craftsmanship and quality furniture with the design skills to get customer's ideas into reality!

We are able to complete 2 boats per year as I want every boat to be an expression of my client's ideas and my craftsmanship.

If you are interested in discussing a possible bespoke build or you would like to find out more about our current boat please give me or my wife Sallie a ring on 01636525575 or 07932641732.

James Blackburn.
